Papers of a career soldier from Milwaukee, Wisconsin chiefly consisting of a lengthy memoir on his 1930s service as adjutant of the Wisconsin National Guard under Ralph M. Immell; active duty during World War II in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands; post-war duty as liaison with the 25th Red Army in North Korea, military attache to Poland, and intelligence adviser to the Royal Thai Army; and work as director of research at the Military Assistance Institute which included a 1960 tour of Vietnam. Choinski (1899-1997) served in the United States Army for nearly 40 years. He was involved in the Wisconsin National Guard, as well as the 4th and 8th Armies.
